This semester, the ZSR Library has implemented a new catalog interface. The system, developed initially by Villanova University, utilizes innovative indexing and searching techniques to help patrons find and interact with library resources.
Users may discover new relationships between resources through the use of faceted browsing, a feature commonly used on e-commerce sites. Faceted browsing allows library patrons to combine several limiting criteria (such as format, location, and publication date) using dynamic links on the results page. The user community may also add comments and tags to catalog records.
