I’m a big fan of the North Carolina Room of the Forsyth County Public Library for local and state history, genealogy, culture, biography, travel, literature and folklore, as well as federal, state and local government information. In addition to that local resource, for patrons interested in geneology, NCLive also offers North Carolina libraries access to HeritageQuest Online, a comprehensive treasury of American genealogical sources, combining digital, searchable images of U.S. federal census records with the digitized version of the popular ProQuest Genealogy & Local History collection – rich in unique primary sources, local and family histories, and finding aids. For help using HeritageQuest Online, check out this LibGuide. Occasionally, a patron at ZSR will ask if we subscribe to Ancestry’s Library Edition, and I’ll point them to HeritageQuest Online where they will find many of the same resources! This is just one example of the many great resources North Carolina Libraries get via NCLive!
