Library Use by Community Groups

Use of Library Materials

Library materials are available for in-library use. Individuals who would like to purchase a library card to check books out of the library can do so for a $50 annual fee.

Use of Library Spaces

The library’s public spaces and public use computers are available all hours the library is open to the public. (After 10pm Sunday-Thursday and after 7pm on Friday and Saturday, the library is only open for WFU students, faculty and staff.)  Group coordinators need to be aware that Wake Forest does not employ any content filtering software on any of our computers, so those with underage participants should plan accordingly.

If your group needs to schedule instruction sessions in the library, groups can use the community instruction form.

If your group needs additional space in the library for meetings or other events, contact the Library Services Desk at 336-758-4931, or zsrcirc@wfu.edu to request space.

Use of Campus Wi-Fi

For access to the WFU network via personal computers, WFU provides an open wireless network, WFUguest; it does not require a sponsor or a password.

Library Research

Anyone using our building has access to most of our online resources through any of our public access computers. Some eBooks in our collection are restricted to current WFU affiliates.

If instruction in using our resources is needed, coordinators can use the community instruction form to request a class session taught by library staff. Requests need to be made as early as possible to ensure staff availability and preparation time.

Copiers/Printers/Scanners

Visitors may use the library’s photocopy machines and printers for a small charge per page using a vending card.

Vending cards may be purchased at the vending machine near the Library Services Desk. The cost to purchase a card is $1 and funds can be added to the card at the vending machine.

Copies and prints are $.08 per page for black and white, and $.25 per page for color.

Stand-alone scanner stations are located on Reynolds 2 and Wilson 4. Campers can scan documents and send to an email address or save to a jump drive at no cost.

Study Rooms

Study rooms are available for groups who need space whenever the rooms are not otherwise reserved or in use.

Rooms are available on a first come/first served basis except when booked in advance by a University affiliate.
