Inside ZSR

Leslie at SEMLA 2014

This year’s meeting of the Southeast Music Library Association was hosted by Louisiana State University, in Baton Rouge. It was one of those enjoyable meetings where one can just sit back and absorb a lot of new information on a novel topic — this year’s theme was electronic and experimental music. LSU has a large... more

Metrolina Library Association’s 9th Annual Conference

Last week, Kaeley and I attended the Metrolina conference in Charlotte. It was different from prior Metrolina conferences in that it was held on the campus of Central Piedmont Community College rather than at Johnson & Wales Univ. in downtown Charlotte. The conference center served as our venue and did so very well. The conference... more

ACRL Information Literacy Competency Standards for Higher Education Task Force Webinar

this afternoon several ZSR library faculty gathered to listen to the ACRL Information Literacy Competency Standards for Higher Education Task Force Webinar. Capstones, Helicopters and Vendors!

Metrolina 5th Annual Information Literacy Conference 17 June 2010, Charlotte, NC This was the first Metrolina Information Literacy Conference I’ve attended, with a program that prompted some dithering over which sessions to choose-always a positive sign. “Information Literacy Examined in Multicultural Context,” presented by keynote speaker Dr. Clara Chu of the Department of Library and... more

Metrolina Information Literacy Conference

Yesterday I attended the Metrolina Library Association 5th Annual Information Literacy Conference. As Roz noted, ZSR was well represented by both attendees and presenters (Carolyn, Bobbie, Ellen, Mary S., Roz, and I), and I enjoyed catching up with colleagues from both ZSR and my UNCG days, as well as make new acquaintances during breaks. Being... more

Leslie at MLA 2010

Music librarians are inured to battling winter weather to convene every year during February in some northern clime (during a Chicago snowstorm last year). So it was almost surreal to find ourselves, this year, at an island resort in San Diego in March (beautiful weather, if still a bit on the chilly side). Despite the... more

TRLN Instruction Group Meeting

Yesterday I went to Duke for the inaugural meeting of the TRLN Instruction Group. The TRLN is the Triangle Research Libraries Network, comprised of Duke, Central, NCSU, and UNC. However, the organizer of this meeting invited several folks from other libraries including UNCG, Guilford, and here, making it something she referred to as “TRLN Plus.”... more
