Finding articles is an important part of the research process. Although the online catalog can show you which periodical titles the library owns, you cannot search individual articles. To accomplish this, you will use a database or index.

Newspapers, magazines, and journals are all examples of periodicals. We recommend using this guide from the ZSR Reference staff that shows the differences between Scholarly Journals and Popular Magazines so you can decide what types of periodicals are appropriate for your research.

In this section you will learn how to select and how to search databases and indexes.
