IngentaConnect
The Z. Smith Reynolds Library provides the IngentaConnect service to help faculty stay up-to-date in their fields of interest.
Getting Started
- Go to the IngentaConnect homepage.
- Choose Sign up here from the right sidebar. Fill out the Personal Registration form.
- Go to New Issue Alerts or Search Alerts to set up tables of contents and/or search strategies.
Two Types of Alerts
New Issue Alerts
The tables of contents of periodicals you select are emailed to you when a new issue becomes available.
Search Alerts
You set up a search strategy. Ingenta runs the search each week and the results are emailed to you.

IngentaConnect sells access to its journals one article at a time. The URLs in the alerts are an invitation to purchase the articles. Instead of paying the fee, try the journals page or Interlibrary Loan to retrieve the article at no cost.
WFU does have Ingenta-based subscriptions for 62 of the 31,000 titles. For these titles, you should be able to click through to the full text.

WFU has paid for 50 Ingenta accounts. Right now this is more than adequate, but if there is a major surge in interest we will want to delete dormant accounts. If you have an unused account, please contact Carol Cramer so it can be deleted.
