WakeSpace Digital Archive
WakeSpace is Wake Forest University's institutional repository. It is designed to collect, preserve, and disseminate the scholarly research output produced by WFU faculty, students, and staff.
What is an institutional repository (IR)?
Institutional repositories are digital archives that provide permanent full-text access to an institution's research corpus. IRs promote broader discoverability of research by enabling free access internet-wide to digital items such as research articles, book chapters, images, films, and electronic theses and dissertations.

How do I ask for permission?
If you are seeking permission to include your publication while still in the submission and review process, you will first need to check your rights; you may already be granted archival rights. Use the SHERPA/RoMEO database to determine archival rights.
If you do not automatically have the right to archive, and have not yet signed the publisher's publication agreement, you will need to use an addendum to request the right to archive. Sample addenda and use instructions may be found here; you can also speak to the Scholarly Communication Librarian for advice.
If you are seeking permission to include previously published works, you will need to seek permission from the publisher. Many publishers' websites include information on permission requests, and accept electronic requests. You may also elect to fax or mail permission letters to publishers. A template for permission letters is available from the Scholarly Communication Librarian.
