Advanced Searching in WorldCat

Transcript

Hello you are watching advance searching in WorldCat. My name is Sarah Jeong and I'll show you how to do it. Right now we're looking at WorldCat database, so let's go to the Advanced Search screen. So let's enter some search terms. This is assuming you're writing a paper on global warming and climate changed. So let's limit by language to English. Let's limit by audience not Juvenile and limit by content to not fiction, and then click search. So, as you can see, if the book is in our library it will indicate that it is at Wake Forest University. The second book, however, is not located at Wake Forest University. In order to find out what library has this book you can click on Library's World Wide. Now I'm in the item record. Even though this book is not in our library you can still access it by submitting an interlibrary loan request by clicking on WFU Full Text Options/ILL. Then click on ILL request. Then all you need to do is login to request the book from another library. So that's how you search WorldCat. If you have any questions please ask a librarian. You can contact us at zsr.wfu.edu/ask.
