Bostwick Residence Hall
The mirror image of Johnson Hall, Bostwick Hall is also a dorm designated for freshmen and like Johnson, originally housed only women. This facility is named after Jabez Bostwick, a Standard Oil official and “one of Wake Forest’s most important benefactors.” In 1983, his gifts made up ⅕ of University’s endowment. Fun fact: there is a Bostwick Hall still standing on old campus in Wake Forest, N.C. This co-ed dorm is also hall-style with a formal parlor that is described as being “an ideal place to study and socialize.” It has multiple study lounges and a spacious sunroof which is perfect for the frequent beautiful, sunny days. Bostwick Hall and Johnson Hall are connected by a tunnel, called “Vegas”, that has been closed off for years, but it was at one point a popular hangout spot for students.
