Carswell Hall
The construction of Wake Forest’s new Law School was made possible by law alumni, Guy T. Carswell. He was a 1922 graduate of Wake Forest College and had a legendary ability to persuade the jury. He also donated to scholarship funds allowing many students to attend Wake Forest and forever impacting their lives. With those accomplishments, it did not require a judge to deliver the verdict that what was originally known as the “Law Building” would be named in his honor. This happened in 1972 which is the same year that renovations to the building were completed. Today, Carswell Hall accommodates multiple departments such as Economics, Communication, Sociology, American Ethnic Studies, East Asian Languages & Literatures, Media Productions Studios, and Academic Computing while the School of Law has moved to the Worrell Professional Center.
