Kitchin Residence Hall
This suite style dorm was completed in the original construction of campus and housed only men for a time. It is named after Thurman Kitchin who served from 1930-1950 as Wake Forest President after graduating from Wake Forest College in 1905. Under the leadership of President Kitchin, enrollment increased despite the economic depression, and women were admitted. Perhaps the most important event of his time in office was the making of the decision to move to Winston-Salem. Kitchin Hall is located over the campus clothing store and, like the other 3 upper Quad dorms, Kitchen Hall has a courtyard making it an excellent place to hang with friends, make new ones, and do some grilling. There are several Greek lounges at Kitchin Hall further making it a nucleus of social activity. The dorm’s common area has a kitchen and lounge allowing for space to feed your brain and body.
