Leighton Tennis Stadium

This facility was constructed in 1989 and was the home of the tennis teams’ games until the Wake Forest Tennis Complex was opened in the summer of 2011. The stadium is named after Jim Leighton, the winningest coach in Wake Forest tennis history. He had 277 wins and 172 losses from 1962-1984. The new Wake Forest Tennis Complex is the site of Winston-Salem Open and, most obviously, Demon Deacon tennis matches. It is situated in the shadow of Groves Stadium, and when not in use for tennis purposes, the courts serve as the tailgating site for Wake Forest students on football gamedays.
