Reynolda Hall
Named after “Reynolda”, the country estate of Richard J. and Katharine Smith Reynolds, Reynolda Hall is the center of campus. “Reynolda” is the Latin feminine for “Reynolds” and symbolizes the major role that Katharine Smith Reynolds played in developing and designing the estate in the early part of the 20th century. It houses the cafeteria (nicknamed “The Pit” because of its location within Reynolda Hall), the Magnolia Room (a very popular dining location for lunch and weekly dinners), and administrative offices. There are several student support departments found in Reynolda Hall such as the Center for Global Programs and Studies, the Office of Personal and Career Development, and the Office of Academic Advising. The Green Room, located on the first floor, is a popular study location and rendezvous point.
