Reynolds Gymnasium
Reynolds Gymnasium is named after William Neal Reynolds, the brother of RJ Reynolds. It was constructed in the years 1954-1956. William Neal is responsible for a large donation to the University. Reynolds Gym is a hot-spot for campus recreation. Complete with a pool, basketball courts, weight rooms, room for fencing practice, martial arts, and a rock climbing wall, repeated visits here are sure to leave you toned and healthy. The volleyball team enjoys a prime home-court advantage here too. Seating 1,500 people, this small space provides an electric atmosphere when the Deacons need it most. Reynolds Gym also houses the Department of Health & Exercise Science, a popular major choice for individuals wishing to go into the medical field. Additionally, Reynolds Gym is the home of Student Health Services although we’d rather you stay healthy and not go there.
