Taylor Residence Hall

Named after Wake Forest’s 6th President Charles E. Taylor who served from 1884 to 1905, this suite-style living facility also houses the book and textbook store as well as the university barber shop. A native of Virginia, Charles E. Taylor served in the Tenth Virginia of the Confederate Army and with the Signal and Secret Service Bureau in Richmond. After graduating from the University of Virginia, Charles E. Taylor joined the Wake Forest faculty in 1870 as professor of Latin and Greek until 1883. In 1871, he was ordained and served several Baptist churches in the area.
