Efird Residence Hall
J.B. Efird, hailing from Charlotte, NC and founder of the Efird department store chain, donated money to Wake Forest College in 1953 which propelled the College forward in meeting the challenge gift from the Z. Smith Reynolds Foundation. Located on Hearn Plaza, (aka “the Quad” and named after twelfth President of Wake Forest, Thomas K. Hearn) this upperclassmen dorm is a co-ed hall style facility with the ability to house 84 students. Situated between Taylor Hall and Wait Chapel, Efird Hall is an excellent living location with prime proximity to the university barber shop and bookstore.
