Winston Hall

Just across the street from Salem Hall, you will find Winston Hall, the home of the biology department (and also home to the Psychology Department at one point). Opened in 1961, Winston Hall was made possible by “the People, Businesses, and Foundations of Winston-Salem and Forsyth County.” The building was renovated in 1990 led by the efforts of the late Weston Hatfield, an influential trustee. The entrance hall, lined with sandstone estimated to be 180 million years old, is a testament to the history and accomplishments of the Biology department. Wake Forest Biology has come a long way from that first microscope purchased in 1883, and both undergraduate and graduate students continue in that rich history.
