Richard Burr was a member of the US House of Representatives and Senate from 1995 - 2023. He grew up in Winston-Salem, North Carolina and attended Wake Forest University where he also played on the university's football team. He graduated from Wake Forest in 1974. His legislative interests were in the areas of healthcare and intelligence, and he was known for serving as the Chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee from 2015 - 2020.

This digital collection contains selected materials from the Richard Burr Collection physically housed within Special Collections and Archives. The digitized materials largely consist of “Inside Congress,” a cable show hosted by Burr about federal government and politics. Also included are some campaign advertisements and public service announcements that Burr recorded. Please note that not all collection materials are digitized, and most of the collection is currently being processed.
