Gertrude and Max Hoffmann were famous vaudevillian and performing arts figures. Gertrude Hoffmann was known as a vaudevillan, mimic, dancer, and the director of The Gertrude Hoffmann Girls. Max Hoffmann, one of the first arrangers to use ragtime rhythm, was a composer and musical director. The photograph collection (1900-1956) includes studio portraits of Hoffmann, troupe performers, and others; photographs of performances by the Hoffmann Girls; snapshots of Gertrude and Max together; and other unidentified people.
