Wake Forest Univerity's American Ethnic Studies program was created in 1996 under the leadership of Dr. Earl Smith, a sociology professor. American Ethnics Studies is an interdisciplinary program that offers courses in literature, music, art, theater, dance, sociology, and romance languages. The program is dedicated to providing knowledge in the study of race, class, gender, and ethnicity. Students can receive a minor in American Ethnic Studies.
