Biographical and Historical Note

This church was originally constituted as a church in 1756 when Daniel Marshall was ordained as their pastor. It was reconstituted in 1777 and reconstituted again on January 1, 1783 with George Whitefield Pope as their pastor. In May of 1832 the church declared its opposition to the Baptist State Convention. A minority went off from the church and formed the present Abbotts Creek Baptist Church which is a member of the Liberty Baptist Association.
