- Flat Rock Baptist Church was organized June 10, 1783 by William Petty. It was originally called Hunting Creek. Records consist of minutes of church conferences from Aug. 31, 1895 to Dec. 1917, including male and female membership rolls, treasurer's reports, and index to church members, reports of protracted meetings, a farewell service in the old church, Dec. 1913, and a list of pastors and clerks.
