      <head>Historical note</head>
      <p>Forks of Otter Creek Baptist Church was first organized as a church for those Baptists living near the banks of Otter Creek in Hardin County, Kentucky. With the blessing of their former churches, its members wrote and signed the first constitution, articles of faith, and articles of decorum for Forks of Otter Creek Baptist Church in 1827. A church building was built later in 1868. The church disbanded in 1929 and gave its land and its membership to the newer Vine Grove Baptist Church which it had helped set up in 1918. A memorial to Forks of Otter Creek Baptist Church was dedicated in 1951.</p>

      <head>Scope and Contents</head>
      <p>This collection consists of one reel of microfilm containing a single volume of minutes from Forks of Otter Creek Baptist Church. This volume also contains the church's covenant or constitution, its articles of faith and rules of decorum as well as the names of the members who first signed this covenant in 1827. The minutes deal with the period from 1855 to 1904, giving an account of the church's meetings as recorded by the church clerk. This reel also contains the souvenir program from the dedication of a memorial to Forks of Otter Creek Baptist Church in 1951.</p>
