Biographical and Historical Note
Winston-Salem First Baptist Church was constituted in 1871. It holds an association with the Pilot Mountain Baptist Association.
Collection Overview
These records contain minutes of church conferences from August 3, 1872 to January 25, 1988 [broken series]; records of the Advisory Board, Building Committee, deacons, Ladies Aid Society, and Woman's Missionary Society as well as information on the missions at Stanleyville (1945), Konnoak Hills, and Immanuel Chapel (1962). The records of Broad Street, later Brown Memorial, Baptist Church, 1893-1907, are also included. In 1935, Brown Memorial merged with First Baptist.
