Biographical and Historical Note
Rural Hall Baptist Church was organized and the house of worship dedicated on March 23, 1919. The church had 18 charter members. The first church building was erected on the site of the old Rural Hall School. In 1923 it was moved across the street. On February 9, 1936, the church and its furnishings were completely destroyed by fire. A new building was dedicated on February 14, 1937. In 1966, the church voted to relocate and purchased property on Highway 52 south of Rural Hall. A new building was dedicated on this site, November 12, 1972. It is a member of the Pilot Mountain Baptist Association.

The contents of this collection contain minutes of church conferences from 1919 to November 24, 1984. Other records include bulletins, subject files, and the church newsletters ("The Messenger" and "Gabriel"), 1980-1982, 1985, 1987-1988.
