Biographical and Historical Note

At the request of the Rev. J. T. Edmundson, the following persons met in the Baptist house of worship at Vaughan, Warren County, N. C. at 3:30 PM, October 31, 1891 to organize a Baptist church: Elders J. T. Edmundson, L. E. Perkinson, Paul Harris, and deacons from Macon, Sharon (now Wise), and others from Littleton and Enterprise Baptist churches. There were thirteen charter members from Enterprise and Littleton Baptist churches. The church met in the old John Vaughan store house until 1898 when they began a new building. Vaughan Baptist Church was previously a member of the Tar River Baptist Association, and is now a member of the Cullom Baptist Association.
