Biographical and Historical Note
Although we have no records for Mount Home Baptist Church until 1925, the church was founded earlier. The church clerk from 1925 provides a note at the beginning of his minute book which suggests that any records for the period prior to 1925 burned in a house fire.
Collection Overview
This collection contains the records of Mount Home Baptist Church on two reels of microfilm. These records consist of six books of minutes. Book 1 covers the period from 1925 to 1938. Book 2 covers 1939-1947. Book 3 covers 1947-1950. Book 4 covers 1950-1962. Book 5 covers 1962-1968. Book 6 covers 1968-1972. All of the church's minute books contain membership lists in addition to the minutes for the church meetings except for Book 6. Book 2 also contains the church's covenant, its declaration of faith, and rules of order. Book 4 also contains lists of averages (average enrollment, contributions, etc.) for the months covered in the record. Book 6 also contains the Rules for Custodians and Rules for Fellowship, as well as letters concerning the resignation of one pastor and the hiring of a new one.
