      <head>Historical note</head>
      <p>Mount Ruhama Baptist Church was organized on August 3, 1816. The church was originally located in Lincoln County. Later, the church moved to Catawba County where it had secured a location for a building.</p>

      <head>Scope and Contents note</head>
      <p>This collection consists of a single reel of microfilm containing eight minute books for Mount Ruhama Baptist Church of Maiden, North Carolina. Book 1 covers the period from 1880 to 1893. Book 2 covers 1893-1905. Book 3 covers 1905-1920. Book 4 covers 1920-1930. Book 5 covers 1930-1938. Book 6 covers 1938-1946. Book 7 covers 1954-1967. Book 8 covers 1967-1968. In addition to minutes, these books also contain the church's covenant, its rules of decorum, its articles of faith, membership lists, lists of dead, financial information, lists of ordained ministers and officers, and some statistical information.</p>
