Piney Forest Baptist Church was constituted on July 25, 1869. It has been a member of the Cape Fear [E] (1869-92); Columbus [E] (1892-98); Cape Fear-Columbus [E] (1899-1935), and Columbus (1936-present) Baptist associations.

The contents of these records consist of minutes of church conferences from the organization of the church to January 1922, and from October 1953 to January 16, 1974; and minutes of the Missionary Society, 1877-1908.
