      <head>Scope and Contents</head>
      <p>Records consist of minutes from church conferences from May 18, 1890 to April 27, 1948 and from October 10, 1958 to July 16, 1989. Other records consist of Deacon's minutes 1954-1989, membership records 1955-1980, newsletters 1953-1983, 1989, a history folder, newspaper clippings 1976-1987; photographs; a Sunday School record book 1916-1919; a minute book of the Marjorie Glass Circle 1976-1979; miscellaneous folders; and bylaws, certificates, council minutes, history file, list of officers, programs and yearbooks of the Woman's Missionary Union.</p>

      <head>Historical Note</head>
      <p>Chadbourn Baptist Church was established in 1890 as part of the Columbus Baptist Association. It became a member of the Cape Fear-Columbus Baptist Association in 1899 and in 1935 returned to the Columbus Baptist Association.</p>
