Jefferson Davis Letter

Jefferson Davis was the president of the Confederate States of America, 1861-1865. Davis died in New Orleans, Louisiana, on December 6, 1889. Davis wrote his letter Dec. 24, 1886, from Beauvoir, Mississippi, to Thomas B. Wilder in appreciation for a copy of the resolutions passed by the North Carolina CSA veterans at their Louisburg, North Carolina, reunion.

Biographical and Historical Note

Jefferson Davis was the president of the Confederate States of America, 1861-1865. He served Mississippi in the U.S. House and Senate before his role as CSA president. Davis died in New Orleans, Louisiana, on December 6, 1889.
