Ephesus Baptist Church in Sanford, N.C., was constituted in 1886. This church has been a member of the Sandy Creek (1886-1949) and South Sandy Creek, now Sandhills, (1949-present) Baptist associations. This collection includes church business meeting minutes and financial records from 1988 to 1997.
Biographical and Historical Note
Ephesus Baptist Church in Sanford, N.C., was organized on September 26, 1886 with seventeen charter members. W.G. King, one of these charter members, served as the first pastor until 1893. Upon its founding, the church joined the Sandy Creek Association and transitioned to the South Sandy Creek Association, now known as Sandhills, in 1949.
