The William Phillips Biddle Papers is a collection of biographical information, a manuscript, and reference cards.</abstract> <origination label="creator"> <persname source="local" role="Creator (cre)">Biddle, William P., (William Phillips), 1787-1853</persname> </origination> </did> <bioghist id="ref4"> <head>Biographical/Historical Note</head> <p>William Phillips Biddle was born in Princess Ann County, Virginia, on January 7, 1788. Biddle devoted himself to the Christian Ministry at an early age and in 1808 he was ordained as a Baptist minister. From there he travelled with his ministry to eastern parts of Virginia and North Carolina where he met and married Mary N. Simpson of Craven County in 1810.
