Biographical and Historical Note
Dobson First Baptist Church in Dobson, N.C., was organized in 1858 by James Henry Llewellyn and eleven charter members. The church joined the Yadkin Baptist Association in 1869 and transitioned to the Surry Baptist Association in 1903. Between 1970 and 1972, the church changed its name from Dobson Baptist to First Baptist Church of Dobson then to Dobson First Baptist Church.
Collection Overview
This collection includes church and association history materials from 1858 to 1980, including books, research notes, and facsimiles. This collection also includes a sesquicentennial celebration volume from 2008, a Baptist Training Union record book from 1947, an association history from 1859, and a theology manual from 1858.
