Biographical and Historical Note
Elm Grove Baptist Church was organized as an arm of the Madison Baptist Church in the Flat Rock District schoolhouse in Guilford County, North Carolina on May 21, 1846. It was constituted as a separate church by a presbytery from the Beaulah Baptist Association on February 14, 1849 with fifteen charter members. Elias Dodson was elected pastor.
