In 1837, the Baptist Church of Christ at Bethlehem was founded at Marshall's Meeting House in New Hanover County, North Carolina. In 1872, the congregation purchased a plot of land for the construction of a new meeting place to be called Canetuck Chapel. The collection includes photographs of the church building and covenant, as well as accounts that chronicle the history of the church from 1837 to 2017.

Biographical and Historical Note
In 1837, the Baptist Church of Christ at Bethlehem was founded at Marshall's Meeting House in New Hanover County, North Carolina. In 1872, the congregation purchased a plot of land for the construction of a new meeting place to be called Canetuck Chapel. In 1918, Canetuck Church moved into a new location, and moved again in 1961. As of October 2017, Cantuck Baptist Church has seven active members.
