Biographical and Historical Note
WFU's Department of Theatre and Dance offers undergraduate students majors and minors in theatre and minors in dance. No audition is required for students to participate in the program. Historically, the department puts on four productions and two dance shows per academic year, along with a variety of other student-produced pieces during a season. WFU's Department of Theatre first began as an interest group in the 1940s called the Wake Forest Little Theatre. In 1951, the Little Theater was renamed the College Theater and became a separate division within the Department of Speech Communication and Theatre Arts.
