Biographical and Historical Note
Wake Forest School of Law Library dates back to the school's start in Wake Forest, N.C. At that time, the law collection was housed in the Heck-Williams Building, the location of the school's first library and law classrooms. In 1926, Donald Gulley, a graduate of the School of Law and practicing lawyer, became the first law librarian at Wake Forest. Students served as library assistants until 1933 when Miss Valeria Fuller, later Mrs. Owensby, was hired as a law library assistant. In 1956, when the School of Law moved to Winston-Salem, N.C., the law library was located in the new Carswell Hall. In 1990, the Worrell Professional Center opened and has housed the School of Law library since. The law library shared space with the business library until 2013, when the School of Business and its library moved to Farrell Hall.
