      <head>Historical Note</head>
      <p>The Wake Forest University School of Medicine was established as the Bowman Gray School of Medicine in 1941. The school offers multiple education and training programs for medical, nursing, biomedical sciences, and physician assistant studies. The school's mission is to teach excellence in clinical medicine, promote clinical research, and provide exemplary patient care. The school holds commencement once a year. There are two separate programs: one for Physician Assistants degree recipients and one for Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree recipients.</p>
