Darryl Hunt and Hunt Trials Collection: Investigative materials and crime scene photographs series
This series is part of the Darryl Hunt and Hunt Trials Collection. To access this collection, please contact Leslie Wakeford, wakefolk@wfu.edu, at Law Library, Wake Forest School of Law.
Collection Overview
This series documents the investigation of the Deborah Sykes case by Winston-Salem Police Department (WSPD), the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation (SBI), and private investigators. Folders are labeled to reflect original notations about when material was received by Darryl Hunt's defense team whenever possible. Documents include reports, interviews, transcripts, witness statements, notes and correspondence from police officers, deputies, investigators, attorneys, the City of Winston-Salem, and Forsyth County (N.C.) Department of Social Services. Duplicates remain in this series, due to unique notations and redacted passages on many documents. Material in boxes 21-24 has largely been kept in original order, as received from Mark Rabil; select duplicate material in boxes 25 and 26 has been rearranged for ease of browsing. The documents range in date from 1977 to 2006.
Four folders of crime scene photographs contain graphic images; use of these images beyond personal research is prohibited.
