WFDD Radio Station
The house where WFDD is located was renovated in 1989 and is now the broadcasting base for 88.5 WFDD, an NPR radio station, which was housed in Reynolda Hall until 1991. A plaque beside the main door indicates that the building is named in memory of Bobbie Moore Fletcher (1915-1990), first wife of Floyd Fletcher, and in honor of J. Floyd Fletcher (’34). Fletcher was a member and president of the Board of Visitors for the undergraduate college at Wake Forest University and a member of the Board of Trustees. He received Wake Forest’s Distinguished Alumni Service Citation in 1986 and at his death was an Honorary Lifetime Trustee of the University.
