- This collection documents meetings of the Board of Trustees of Wake Forest College (University) and the Executive Committee of the Board. The contents of these folders consist primarily of meeting minutes and agendas, but also included are microfilm reels of minutes, copies of minutes, notes, meeting notices, faculty and staff appointments, budget materials, recommendations to the Board, resolutions, correspondence, and other supporting documents.
- Irving E. Carlyle was an alumnus of Wake Forest College (1917) who became a lawyer in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, and trustee of Wake Forest College and Bowman Gray School of Medicine, later Wake Forest University School of Medicine. His papers contain personal, legal, and financial records, subject files, and other files relating to his service to Wake Forest University and Bowman Gray School of Medicine. The files contain extensive correspondence with leading politicial figures in North Carolina. Also included is information on the relocation of the College from Wake Forest, N.C., to the Winston-Salem campus.
