- Arnold Edmund Hayes (1893-1982) and his wife Helen Ford Hayes (1895-1993) served as Southern Baptist Convention missionaries to Brazil, 1919-1954. Their papers consist of genealogical files on the Hayes and Chisholm families; scripture notes; family correspondence; writings and notes on their work in Brazil; photographs; a scrapbook ; correspondence with various employees of the Southern Baptist Convention Foreign Missions Board and other missionaries; sermons and materials; and Arnold Hayes's journals, 1920-1969.
- Matthew Tyson Yates was an alumnus of Wake Forest College (1845) and was appointed as the first Southern Baptist missionary to China from North Carolina, serving from 1846 to 1888. His papers consist of biographical information, correspondence, photographs of Yates, wife Eliza, and daughter Annie, clippings, and related materials.
