Department of Archives and History on March 24, 1986.</p> </acqinfo> <userestrict id="ref4"> <head>Conditions Governing Use note</head> <p>Permission of the church must be obtained to photocopy these records in their entirety.</p> </userestrict> <bioghist id="ref5"> <head>Biographical/Historical note</head> <p>The preface pages indicated that "Head of Mayo" and "Black Walnut" Baptist churches joined together in 1799, meeting at John Brookes' home in Person and at Black Walnut. Bethel was first noted in 1803 as another meeting place. They met at Bethel and "The Walnut" until 1817.
