Becker, Field Missionary of the Yadkin Baptist Association came to Siloam and preached to a few people in the grove on some land belonging to Mr. Sam Atkinson. Seeing the need for a Baptist church Mr. Atkinson donated the land and a building was begun. The Reverend Becker returned October 21, 1900 for a meeting which continued until October 23, 1900. On this date Mr. Harding Norman from Rockford Baptist Church and John Ross from East Bend Baptist Church were requested to assist Mr. Becker in organizing a Baptist church. There were 10 charter members.</p> </bioghist> <controlaccess> <corpname source="local">Siloam Baptist Church (Siloam, N.C.).</corpname> <corpname source="local" role="Associated name (asn)">Surry Baptist Association.</corpname> <corpname source="lcsh" role="Associated name (asn)">Yadkin Baptist Association.</corpname> <subject source="lcsh">Baptists--North Carolina--Surry County--History--Sources</subject> <subject source="local">Church records and registers--North Carolina--Siloam</subject> <subject source="lcsh">Church records and registers--North Carolina--Surry County </subject> <geogname source="lcsh">Surry County (N.C.)--Church history--Sources</geogname> </controlaccess> <dsc> <c id="ref6" level="series"> <did> <unittitle>Church Minutes</unittitle> <langmaterial> <language langcode="eng"/> </langmaterial> <unitdate normal="1900/1977" type="inclusive">1900-1977</unitdate> </did> <c id="ref7" level="item"> <did> <unittitle>Church Minute Book, Vol. 1</unittitle> <unitdate normal="1900/1955" type="inclusive">1900-1955</unitdate> </did> </c> <c id="ref8" level="item"> <did> <unittitle>Church Minute Book, Vol. 3</unittitle> <unitdate normal="1955/1960" type="inclusive">1955-1960</unitdate> </did> </c> <c id="ref9" level="item"> <did> <unittitle>Church Minute Book, Vol. 4</unittitle> <unitdate normal="1974/1977" type="inclusive">1974-1977</unitdate> </did> </c> </c> </dsc> </archdesc> </ead>
