The presbytery was composed of the Reverends J.D. Harris and Frank B. Cheek. The seven charter members were: Reverend J.D. Harris was elected, pastor; J. Horton Doughton, church clerk; and John R. Long as deacon. The church met and held its first services in a schoolhouse from 1891-1897. The first church building, 1898-1930, was a frame structure, 42' by 28', with a seating capacity of 300 which was destoryed by fire in 1930. The present brick church building was constructed in 1932 with an addition built in 1942.
