      <head>Immediate Source of Acquistion note</head>
      <p>Reels 1-2 were purchased from the N.C. State Archives, Raleigh, N.C. on March 8, 1974. The materials on reels 1-2 were loaned to the East Carolina Manuscripts Collection by the Board of Deacons to be microfilmed. The contents of reel 3 were filmed from copies sent to the N.C. Baptist Historical Collection on April 11, 1977.</p>

      <p>Memorial Baptist Church was constituted in 1827 as Greenville Baptist Church and was renamed Memorial Baptist Church in 1915. Memorial Baptist Church has been a member of the Neuse I [E] (1826-1843); Union I [E] (1844-1852); Pamlico I [E] (1851-1874); Tar River (1874-1907); Roanoke [E] (1908-1955); and the South Roanoke (1955-present) Baptist Associations.</p>
