Inventory of the Jasper Livingston Memory Jr. Papers, 1921-1935
Jasper Livington Memory Jr. (1901-1991) graduated from Wake Forest College in 1921. He later served as Professor of Education and administrator in several positions at Wake Forest College. His papers consist of biographical and family files, memoirs, speeches and addresses, a small amount of correspondence, typescript copies of family correspondence and his reports to the President of Wake Forest College as a Field Agent for the Building Fund. Most of the collection consists of documents pertaining to the reprinting effort made by Dr. Memory for John Charles McNeill's poetry. Dr. Memory was a nephew of and was owner of the copyrights to Songs of Merry and Sad and Lyrics from the Land of Cotton, which were reprinted by the University of North Carolina Press.
