This collection contains photographs of four poets, likely the poets Donald Davidson, John Crowe Ransom, Allen Tate, and Robert Penn Warren, and an undated audioreel.</abstract> </did> <bioghist id="aspace_5aa443ac45c98e2b7e62094b13978afd"> <head>Historical Note</head> <p>The Fugitives were a group of poets and scholars, mostly white men, who came together at Nashville, Tennessee's Vanderbilt University in the 1920s. From 1922–1925, the group published a small literary magazine, <title render="italic">The Fugitive</title>. The Fugitives partly overlapped chronologically and also in membership, the Agrarians, a group consisting of writers, poets, essayists, and novelists that was also started at Vanderbilt University.
