The Wake Forest University Art Collections consist of nine independent and diverse collections assembled by a variety of circumstances including commissions, gifts, bequests and purchases. More than 1600 works, including paintings, prints, photography, sculpture, drawings, furniture, and textiles, are located in 35 on- and off-campus locations. The materials in this collection include brochures, committee materials, pamphlets, and newsletters.

Biographical and Historical Note

The Wake Forest University Art Collections consist of nine independent and diverse collections assembled by a variety of circumstances including commissions, gifts, bequests, and purchases. The nine collections are: General Collection; Graylyn Collection; Hanes Collection; Mark H. Reece Collection of Student-Acquired Contemporary Art; Portrait Collection; Print Collection; R. J. Reynolds Collection; Simmons Collection; and Student Art Collection.

More than 1600 works, including paintings, prints, photography, sculpture, drawings, furniture, and textiles, are located in 35 on- and off-campus locations, on display or in storage. The Collection and its curators aims to foster an awareness and appreciation of the visual arts and support the University's educational mission through examination, conversation, and instruction.
